Comments about Maclean's:

-As mentioned, while I understand the need for ads, I find long inserts interfere with the flow of the magazine
-While very good overall, I'd like to see kore content by and about women. I'd also like to see it steer clear of 'trash' reporting, such as that about Melania Trump
-Please continue indepth reporting, such as on Tragically Hip, the community tgat came together to sponsor Syrians,;and those Canadians who helped Nathan Cirillo★★★★★
- News is news, but please continue to include coverage on positive, as well as negative stories.

Comments about Maclean's:

Not sure what you are looking for here. I have had a subscription to MacLeans many times over the last 55 years. I used to like it and look forward to it - I have not felt that way about it, however, for some years - it has become too right wing for my taste. Pity!

      Comments about Maclean's:

I love to read MacLean's every week. The one part that I do not like is the last page that features stories of people's life and death. I don't mind celebrating the person's life story and their contributions to society, but I do not like to read about how they died. I find that last paragraph describing the person's death takes away from the full story of the celebration of their life and often ends the article on a tragic, sad note. I find this particularly true when the story is about a young person who died as a result of a crime such as the recent article about Ottawa resident Christina Vivian Voelzing who died from a gunshot wound fired by her ex-boyfriend. This changes the nature of the article from a celebration about her life and spirit to ending on a note about violence against women and the prevalence of guns / gangs in our city. I would much rather see MacLean's focus these stories on the positives of people's lives and leave out the parts about how they died. Describing a person's death in detail takes the focus of MacLean's away from an educational news magazine to more of a sensational emotional gossip magazine. I won't stop reading the magazine because of this but I do wish MacLean's would tone down, or leave out, the description of the actual death.
